SUPRISE!! Happy one year of getting to read the written manifestation of my thoughts!

Well, it has been a long time coming, one year to be precise, but here it is, the first anniversery of my blog. Who can forget such great articles as "The tale of the Wal-mart nap." Remember that one when I quit best buy and I remembered all of my favorite best buy blog moments. You don't? Hmm. I would include a link but if you don't remember then maybe you don't deserve to read it. Thats right, mike, chase off your readers. Real cool. I have greatly enjoyed this page as an outlet for the "funny" goofy crap that happens in day to day life. That is why I have decided to name August 20, 2004 to August 20, 2005 the year of the reader. (Actually it is a bit late because I have failed to post in the last few days) Now then I have some sad news. After (just over) one year, it is time for the King to retire, at least for now. But like a phoenix risen from the ashes, there shall come another. That's right, a new blog!! As many of you know (because, like so many other things, I can't shut up about it) I am going to Japan in September. As such, I will be keeping a blog that more adequately represents the American-in-Japan expatriot experience. It will be called "On becoming a robot." I bet you all cannot wait for the deluge of robot jokes that will inevitably follow. Anyhow, lets not drag this out. It's been fun blogging, look for the "return of the king" (yuk yuk yuk) in a year.

What?! no pizza?

Well, hello dear reader, it has been a long time. Don't worry you haven't missed much. It really seems like I start a lot of my entries like that anymore. Then again, Bisys is no where near the treasure trove of material that Best Buy was. Alas, gone are the days of ninja's battling russians, and annoying customers. I cannot cry for those days though, oh no, I cannot, for I am glad as shit to be out of there. Anyhow, there was actually something blog-worthy today, so I will spin my yarn. It was around 11:50 this morning, I was at work and I got a message that "the educational meeting is starting at noon." I didn't think much of it, surely they would have no need of me at some meeting. So ok, forget about, continue with my work. However, at 11:55 I get another reminder. "Crap, I had better check with my temporary compatriots and see if they have been experiencing similar symptoms." I asked around, but no one had been recieving anything, it was time to make a choice. "Screw it, I will go to this meeting." So I go up to the "training room" (something like the "danger room" minus the holograms and the flying razor disks) and pull up a chair. "Okay, don't recognize any temps here. Lets see how this plays out." As I am sitting there I notice that everyone in the room has a Pizza Hut personal pan pizza, and I am thinking that I could really go for a personal pan pizza, as I am by this time quite hungry. Thus, I walked over to the personal pan pizza distribution area to see if I could score one. Unfortunately there was a list of people and what kind of pizza they were supposed to recieve. "Alright, I will wait until the end of the meeting and then swoop in on the leftovers, surely someone will be absent or will simply not want their's." It was a fool proof plan. What it should have been was a flashing indicator that I should bail and fast. But there was no time, the meeting was starting. I grabbed my chair and a packet from the front and got into learning mode. It took me about 5 seconds into the meeting to discover what I should have understood from the personal pan pizza list. This meeting was not meant for me. There were enough people that I didn't stand out (except in that I had no pizza) so it wasn't too bad...Whats this? Its not the end? But I have to bail for now. I will go ahead and post this, because who knows when I will have internet access again. Tune in next time for the exiting conclusion of the meeting that I shouldn't have gone too!!!
